As a manager today you probably have endless times where you get to the end of a day and think "What did I achieve of any use today?" Working life can often seem like you're on a hamster wheel - dealing with one crisis after another with no time to fix or improve anything. You "just have to finish X" and then you can look at the more important things on your list. Doing a course like this will teach you how to prioritise effectively, how to delegate so that you can use the strengths of your team to help you get more done and how to think and plan ahead so that you become not the "boiler stoker" but the "captain of your ship" with a clear view of your journey's destination and a great team to help you get the boat there in good time and in good working order. Much of what you do today will almost certainly be done as a result of instinct and gut feel and in doing a course like this, you will see that much of this is absolutely right, and reinforced by theories and models that explain why and how what you are doing works today. In many cases, though, you will be exposed to new models and new thinking - both from course tutors and colleagues - giving you ideas to help you improve and refine what you do as a manager to get better results more quickly. ![]() |
