Award in ManagementThe Award in Management is usually 2-3 days of taught content with just a couple of units to study. All three awarding bodies - CMI, ILM and Edexcel (BTEC) offer Award in Management, and it can be a stand-alone qualification, or can be the "first step" to going on to add more units and do a Certificate or a Diploma. Award in Management is available at Level 3 (First Line Manager) Level 5 (Middle Manager) or Level 7 (Senior Manager). In most cases, the Award is extremely flexible offering you a wide choice of subject units. In the case of ILM and Edexcel (BTEC) there are one or two mandatory units. With CMI there is completely open choice. This means for example, that if you wanted to do - say - a project management programme and make it accredited, you could choose project management units from the list of syllabus choices and use the Award as the qualification.
